Born and raised in Italy, Roberto transverses the globe. He enjoys the mash-up of different cultures along the way.

 Roberto is a pioneer in digital health and a recognized thought leader, people-inspiring founder, serial entrepreneur and global manager.

Trained as a medical doctor, his passion for medicine, computer science and human-technology interactions have led to his lifelong commitment and dedication to the advancement and spreading of digital healthcare and wellness.  He holds a strong belief that digital innovations and technology will be the most impactful drivers of change in healthcare – disrupting the healthcare-related industries along the way.

 Armed with his medical expertise, passion and a fierce entrepreneurial spirit, in 1996, Roberto founded his first company – Healthware Consulting – providing health informatics services.

Being a pioneer in the field even as early as the 90s when digital was still in its infant phases was not without its challenges and opportunities.

Riding the digital wave, those inspirational years that followed thereafter witnessed a group of young and brave people led by Roberto anticipate the future in designing a full range of services and applications in healthcare across Europe, through the foundation of Healthware Technology and Healthware Multimedia in partnership with Saatchi & Saatchi Health, thereafter merged into Healthware Group.

In the first ten years, Healthware faced an exponential growth of its business, expanding into the European markets with innovative solutions in many areas ranging from the very first integrated disease awareness programs powered by search marketing to patient-centric interactive services, as well as defining the foundational basis Closed Loop Marketing concept up to distributed data-driven collaboration networks for physicians which is still cutting edge these days.

In 2007 Healthware was acquired by Publicis Groupe and rebranded Publicis Healthware International (PHI) and Roberto appointed Managing Director of the brand.

Between 2007 and 2012, Roberto had been successfully leading the merger of long-standing digital heritage agencies in USA (eHealth Solutions and iMed Studios), Spain (NUATT), Germany (Digital District), UK (Elevator) which strengthened capabilities in several areas such as KOL management, visualization, social, digital branding and strategy.

Under Roberto’s leadership as global President, the resulting entity reached an unparalleled breath and depth of services together with substantial geographical reach.

In 2012, Publicis Healthware International and Razorfish Health (also a member of Publicis) were merged as Razorfish Healthware resulting in one of the largest global healthcare digital agency players active in 10 markets with more than 300 professionals worldwide.

The inclusion among the Top 100 Agencies listed in Medical Marketing & Media (MM&M)’s 2013 and 2014 issues, reinforced the success of the choice of the merger, which confirmed that “Razorfish Healthware is where the market is going”.

Since June 2015 he has been leading the spin out of the original Healthware Team, serving as global CEO.

Under his tenure the agency evolved into a cutting edge, innovation-driven company delivering value at the heart of the transforming healthcare ecosystem.

Alongside his agency steering obligations, Roberto also participated as a Board Member of various research and education organizations such as OncoTech, BioGene and BioRicerche – hence lending his expertise to areas such as Oncology, Genomics, Bioinformatics and Biotechnology.

Naturally, he remains committed to his vision and demonstrates this via his contributions to several research organizations and start-up accelerators.
